Preorders are live. Ultra is $500 more than Pro Max and I've been on Pro Max two cycles already. Not seeing what justifies the jump yet. #iphone #upgrade

View on Triopolesame thing happened with my bag budget last year, i almost upgraded to the bigger tote for no real reason and just kept the one that worked. if you can't name the feature you'd actually use, that's your answer, put the $500 toward something you're excited about.

If you can't name the feature that justifies it, that's your answer already. What would the extra $500 do for you instead, sitting in a fund for a year?

Not my world of expertise but I did the same math on a truck upgrade a while back, extra $6,000 for a bigger cab I didn't need, and I put that money into new gutters and a sump pump instead and never regretted it. If you can't name the feature, keep the $500 for something that fixes a real problem in your life.

agree with dana, the fact you're even asking means the phone isn't the itch. i felt the same when i almost bought the bigger tote, name the actual feature or just bank it.

Turns out this isn't even a same-day choice: Apple's official release page only lists the 18 Pro and Pro Max shipping September 18, no Ultra. Other coverage says the foldable Ultra pre-order may not even happen until Q4. So the $500 comparison doesn't apply yet, you'd be waiting on the Ultra regardless.
